Patent Procedure

We urge our clients to apply for a provisional patent application in order to secure patent priority date. Filing a provisional application for patent to the Indian Patent Office is the fastest method that will enable you to protect your invention or idea. The merit of filing provisional patent application is that you will be issued a priority patent filing date from the Indian Patent Office. In this way you can enjoy the right to secure your invention.

However, you will then need to file a complete patent application within 12 months of the earliest priority patent filing date, which cannot be extended. The provisional patent application will be invalid if the complete patent application is not filed within the given time frame to the Indian Patent Office. The earliest patent filing date is the date that the Patent Office receives your provisional application to register the patent in India.
